Oct. 28—The title of a brand new exhibit showcasing artist Juana Estrada Hernández’s work is New Works, leaving a lot to the creativeness. The truth is, the solo exhibition of Hernández’s printmaking-based artwork is in regards to the significance of holding on to 1’s tradition as a technique of resistance, satisfaction, and celebration.
Hernández was born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and moved along with her household to the US when she was 7 years previous, searching for a greater life, she says. She has a BFA diploma in printmaking from Fort Hays State College in Kansas and a MFA in printmaking from the College of New Mexico. She has obtained honors, together with the Southern Graphic Council Worldwide Graduate Fellowship Award, the SITE Students Award, and a Fulcrum Fund Grant. Her work will be seen at juanaseemyprints.weebly.com. A gap reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28; the exhibit runs by Nov. 30.
